Ray Demski

Growing up in the rocky mountains of Canada, Ray always loved the outdoors. From the age of 14 he spent seven years sailing around the world on a 45-foot sailboat, which amplified his love for adventure. It was during this time that Ray picked up his first camera and ignited his passion for documenting the diverse people and landscapes around him, while also developing his skills as an athlete.
My goal when it comes to photography is to capture the perfect moment, which often involves being part of the action.
I’ve been an avid Nikon user since picking up my first DSLR, which was the D70. Ever since, Nikon has played a huge part in my career and my development as a photographer. One of my favourite cameras to this day remains the D850, which offers amazing resolution and dynamic range. This is very important for me as because, when I do capture the perfect moment, I want it to be the highest quality possible.
But today you’ll find the Z 9, which has quickly become my go to camera for pretty much everything. I’ve recently added the Z 8 to my kitbag, which was a welcome addition especially given its smaller body, making it ideal for some projects.
